Summary

Between 2007 and 2012, DLP was the trusted advisor for the board of directors of the MCA-Gemini group in the north of the Netherlands. DLP helped to form the long term strategy for the complete property portfolio and afterwards worked with the hospital on the roll-out of the strategy, which consisted of several projects: a new high-care-hospital building, a large-scale renovation of the current building, a medical support building and several smaller renovations of the portfolio such as the obstetrics clinic and the hospital pharmacy.

In 2009 DLP worked on the business case for the new hospital building. Several scenarios for the new hospital were investigated and discussed with the hospitals board of directors. After the decision for a new hospital building was made, DLP worked on defining and formulating the user requirements (PoR), in close consultation with the end-users (doctors and staff). Unfortunately, plans were cancelled in 2016 due to financial restrictions.

In 2010 DLP formed and supervised the selection procedure for  the selection and contracting of a total design team for the project. After selection DLP worked in close cooperation with the design team in the initial en preliminary design stages (2011-2012). DLP was the first point of contact for the design consortium and worked intensively with the architect in the development of the design. DLPs role was introducing, explaining, monitoring and recording the project requirements (PoR and mutations after user participation), monitoring and evaluation of phase documents, facilitating decision-making by the client (MCA), creating support for and communication of the design to the organization, and contacts with the municipality with respect to procedures, durability, safety, traffic, etc.
